Membership information
Membership and Eligibility
Membership of the Association is open to any person who has Yoruba ancestral heritage from Nigeria or any other part of the world. Also, the membership is open to any other person affiliated to Yoruba people by marriage or demonstrates willingness to support and promote the positive image of the association through the Mission Statements and Objectives. The benefits and annual fees for each of the classes of membership outlined in Article #3.1 shall be determined by the Executive Members and approved by the General Membership. For record purposes, all new members will be required to complete a registration form that will be reviewed and approved by the Executive Members.
FAMILY HOUSEHOLD MEMBERSHIP
Family Household membership shall be open to any couples with or without children that are willing to pay the annual membership fees as may be determined from time to time by the General Membership of the Association.
Payment of annual membership allows each member of the household 18 years and above, a voting right at the General Meeting, to be nominated as a candidate for any election being conducted by the Association, to seek an election for any of the Executive Members positions of the Association, and can nominate and/or support a candidate for both elected and non-elected office.
To maintain the status of a “household in good standing” in any particular year, the household must have paid the membership fee for that year. The obligation to maintain and renew household membership on an annual basis shall be the responsibility of each household.
SINGLE HOUSEHOLD MEMBERSHIP
