Welcome from the President
Ẹ kú àbọ̀! Welcome to Isokan Yoruba Ottawa.
It is my privilege to serve as President of this remarkable association, a community united by the enduring values of ọmọlúwàbí—integrity, respect, excellence, and service. Together, we are committed to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage, language, and traditions of the Yoruba people while building a vibrant, supportive community here in Canada’s capital.
Since joining Isokan Yoruba Ottawa in 2015, I have had the honour of serving in several leadership roles, each deepening my appreciation for the dedication and generosity of our members. Today, my vision is to strengthen our community, empower our youth, and ensure that future generations remain proud of their Yoruba identity while thriving within Canada’s diverse society.
Through initiatives such as Yoruba School Ottawa, cultural celebrations, community outreach, and charitable programs both in Canada and in Yorubaland, we continue to create opportunities for learning, service, and meaningful connections. We are especially passionate about nurturing young people to embrace the timeless values of the ọmọlúwàbí culture and become tomorrow’s leaders.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our founding members and past executives whose vision and sacrifices laid the strong foundation upon which we continue to build.
Whether you are a long-standing member, a newcomer, or simply interested in learning about Yoruba culture, I warmly invite you to become part of our family. Together, let us preserve our heritage, serve our communities, and inspire generations to come.
